Winter Studies 2009

Fridays, February 13 through April 24
10am-12pm
20/20 Vision: Twenty Icons of American Art
Instructor: Amanda C. Burdan, Ph.D., Catherine Fehrer Curatorial Fellow
Tuition: $225 ($210 members)

Rediscover American art history through twenty iconic works of art and learn their impact on other American artists, artistic movements, and developing styles in the United States. Ranging from colonists to modernists, the twenty featured artists and their masterworks are the foundation from which Burdan will investigate how America’s artistic output reflects the social, political, and economic history of America. This 10-session course, taught by the Museum’s scholar-in-residence, will broaden your thinking on the interconnectedness of American culture over the last three centuries.

Note: No class on Friday, April 10 (Good Friday), and please save Friday, May 1 for make-up snow day.
