2010 Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is one of the Museum’s most vital sources funding, providing support to exhibitions & collections, educational programming, outreach, and facilities & grounds. As a non-profit relying on contributed income, our goal of continued programming excellence can only be reached with your generous support.

Your gift may be made in the form of cash, credit card or appreciated stock. Contributions of any amount, including matching gifts, will be gratefully received and acknowledged by the Museum. Please consider supporting this nationally treasured center of art, history and landscape.

Gifts to the Annual Fund support the costs of such essential needs as:

Museum Exhibitions & Collections $285,000
(research, conservation, engaging special exhibits and publications)

Educational Programs for All Ages $221,000
(lectures, workshops, hands-on education center, summer camp scholarships, school programs and more)

Serving the Community $284,000
(building public awareness, offsite presentations by staff and volunteers, free admission days, festivals and community events)

Museum Facilities & Grounds $412,000
Historic buildings, beautiful gardens, and riverfront setting;

All Annual Fund donors are recognized in the Museum’s Annual Report unless the donor wishes to remain anonymous.

*Please note that contributions to the Annual Fund are separate from membership dues.
* Membership dues are included with Annual Fund gifts of $2,500 or more.
*All donations are tax-deductible.

Planned Giving

The Florence Griswold Museum invites you to join the Lieutenant River Society, an esteemed and growing membership of generous donors who have included the Museum in their estate plans.

Planned giving can be a creative vehicle for making thoughtful gifts that will help secure the financial future of the Museum for generations to come. Bequests, gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts are but some of the many planned giving opportunities available.
