WhAt's the Hot Air Club?
 From "The Zodiac Group" at the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida to "The Smart Set" at the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago, museums across the country are introducing social programs that combine art and entertainment.
In that same vein, the Florence Griswold Museum presents the "Hot Air Club," named for the free-spirited Lyme artists who challenged artistic and social traditions at the turn of the 20th century. The Hot Air Club holds programs throughout the year that combine fun and socializing with a lively mix of art and culture-related topics.

Join the Hot Air Club for a Pub Night! The Museum's Rafal Landscape Center will be filled with great local brews and wine, not-so-puzzling appetizers and snacks, and a good-natured trivia competition. Quiz master Su Peck will lead five rounds of questions testing your intellect from the serious to the silly. Prizes and laughter guaranteed. Teams and individuals welcome.

Celebrate the Hot Air Club's birthday and help kick off a new year of programming! Join the Eric Ducoff Band as they play a mixture of Chicago and West Coast jump blues from the late 40's, 50's and 60's. Jive to the rhythms of early rock ‘n’ roll, feast on a BBQ dinner by Savory of Old Saybrook, and sip cool summer cocktails all along the banks of the Lieutenant River.
 Film Night: Screaming Masterpieces
Join us for an engaging evening of film, food, and fun as we view Screaming Masterpiece – an innovative documentary focusing on the current music scene in Iceland. Explore the roots of punk, hip-hop, and classical music there and indulge in hors d’oeuvres and icy beverages beforehand.

Historic Striptease in Reverse
Kandie Carle, The Victorian Lady, will dress before your eyes in the under- and over- garments of yesteryear. Take pleasure in Leap Year libations while Kandie goes from wearing very little to wearing some very vintage Victorian. Laughter guaranteed!
Playing the Acoustic Blues: An Evening with Dan Stevens
Join us for an evening of blues as musician Dan Stevens shares his acoustic guitar music in a 45 minute concert. Drinks and light fare included.
